The welcome ceremony for newly appointed 18 th Centre Commandant Brigadier K Prematilake RWP RSP was held on 4th June 2018 at the Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch. The event was unfolded as follows.

Welcome ceremony at Officer’s Mess
Deputy Centre Commandant, Lt Col P K S Nandana RSP USP psc welcomed the new Centre Commandant and invited to review the Guard Turn Out at the main entrance and accompanied to take the salute of the charming but the proud, dignified military parade. Then, the ceremonial commemoration for fallen war heroes at the monument were taken place to make the event more colorful and Officers and Other Ranks were presented to witness the event. In auspicious time, the Centre Commandant assumed the duties as 18 Centre Commandant of the regiment and the day’s proceeding commenced with All Rank tea at the lecture hall. During the troop address, the Centre Commandant expanded the contribution of all staff officers, clerk and all other soldiers of the Regimental Centre to support him to work for the organization.
Brigadier Thilak Prematilake was born on 18 Mar 1964. He is a proud product of Nalanda Collage Colombo. He enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army on 02 June 1986 to Intake 4 of Kotelawala Defence Academy and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. He opted to join the Gemunu Watch and was subsequently posted to the 1th Battalion initially and later to the 5th Battalion the Gemunu Watch. During his military career, he has holds Command, Staff and Instructional appointments in different capacities. In recognition of his gallantry and bravery service in the face of the enemy during the operations, he was awarded with the Rana Wickrama Padakkama (RWP) and Rana Soora Padakkama (RSP).
