BRIGADIER AADNSP DUNUWILA RWP RSP USP ASSUMED THE DUTIES AS 19 TH CENTRE COMMANDANT OF REGIMENTAL CENTRE THE GEMUNU WATCH

Taking over of duties by newly appointed Centre Commandant Brigadier AADNSP Dunuwila was held on 29th March 2019 at the Regimental Centre the Gemunu Watch. The event was unfolded as follows.

  • Guard Turn Out

  • Commemoration of Fallen War Heroes

  • Planting a sapling

  • All Rank Tea

  • Troop Address

Deputy Centre Commandant, Lt Col KMN Kulasekara RWP RSP psc welcomed the new Centre Commandant and invited to review the Guard Turn Out at the main entrance. Then, the ceremonial commemoration for fallen war heroes at the monument was taken place and Officers and Other Ranks were presented to witness the event. In auspicious time, Brig AADNSP Dunuwila assumed the duties as 19 Centre Commandant of the regimental centre with All Rank tea and troop address. During the troop address, the Centre Commandant requested the contribution of all Staff Officers, clerks and all other ranks of the Regimental Centre to support him to work for the organization.

Brigadier Nandana Dunuwila was born on 23 Augest 1966. He is a proud product of Prince of Wales College Moratuwa. He enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army on 16 March 1987 to Intake 28 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and subsequently posted to the 5th Battalion the Gemunu Watch and later commanded 12th Battalion the Gemunu Watch and 18th SRIBAT in Haiti. During his military career, he has held many Command, Staff and Instructional appointments in different capacities. In recognition of his gallantry and bravery service in the face of the enemy during the operations, he was awarded with the Rana Wickrama Padakkama (RWP) and Rana Soora Padakkama (RSP)
