Ceremonies to invoke blessings on the President’s and the Regimental colours of the Gemunu watch ,1st ,2nd, and 3rd Battalion of the Gemunu watch were held at Katharagama Kiriwehera and Katharagama Dewalaya on the 30th and 31st of August 2013.
Presenters on these occasions were the Colonel of the Regiment Major General LBR Mark RSP USP ndu .the Centre Commandant and large numbers of senior officers , junior officers , SNCOs , NCOs soldiers both the services and retired of the Gemunu Watch and members of their families.
1st ,2nd and 3rd battalions were conferred with the President’s and Regimental colours in August 1980 ever since these ceremonies have been held annually. The Gemunu watch was conferred with President’s and Regimental colours in 18/08/2012 and this was the 2nd colour blessing ceremony for the Regiment.
This ceremony was comprise with Bodhi Puja Perith chanting alms giving Kirivehera and Devala Pujava at Katharagama Devalaya .
