21ST THE GENERAL MEETING OF GEMUNU WATCH EX-SERVICEMEN’S REGIMENTAL ASSOCIATION

The 21st Annual General Meeting of Gemunu Watch Ex-Servicemen’s Regimental Association (GWESRA) was held on 11 March 2018 at the Regimental Center of the Gemunu Watch at Kuruwita. The event was organized by the GWESRA exco and was authorized by the Colonel of the Regiment, Major General WBDP Fernando RWP RSP USP psc and it unfolded as follows.

  • Arrival of the Members of the GWESRA

  • Breakfast

  • Commemoration ceremony of the Fallen War Heroes - Monument

  • Annual General Meeting - Lecture Hall

  • Lunch - Swimming Pool premises

  • Departure

The Col of the Regiment warmly welcomed Brigadier (retd) HN Halangode RWP RSP USP USACGSC, the president of GWESRA and all Ranks of the association at the outset. A total number of 20 Officers and 270 Other Ranks were presented for the event including the following senior officers.

  • Major General LT Fernando

  • Major General WR Wijeratne USP

  • Major General KS Fernando RWP RSP USP Ldmc

  • Major General LBR Mark RSP VSV USP ndu

  • Major General PUS Vithanage RSP ndu

Major General (retd) KS Fernando RWP RSP USP Ldmc appointed as the new president of the GWESRA and Major General (retd) LBR Mark RSP VSV USP ndu and Major General (retd) PUS Vithanage RSP ndu were elected to the exco of the GWESRA.

The lunch for all members was organized at the pool side of the Regimental Centre at the termination of the meeting where the Gemunu Watch band provided music. The meeting ended very successfully and all members dispersed after part taking a well prepared lunch by the Regimental staff.
