12TH BATTALION THE GEMUNU WATCH CELEBRATED ITS 9TH ANNIVERSARY
12th Battalion the Gemunu Watch celebrated its 9th Anniversary on 01st January 2017 and Intercompany Cricket, Volleyball, Tug of War tournaments were held from 14th December 2016 to 18th December 2016.
Cleaning of Shanthi Elder’s home -Kaithadi was held on 20th December 2016 as a community relation work. Religious ceremonies were held at Kirivehera, Katharagama Devalaya, Ratnapura Maha Saman Devalaya and Nagadeepa from 22nd December 2016 to 28th December 2016.
Traditional flower wreaths for fallen war heroes at the monument of GW was held on 24th December 2016 and a Tea Party for the disable soldiers of 12 GW attached to RHQ Battalion was conducted at Regimental centre Kuruvita on the same day. “Pirith†and “Heel Danayaâ€, CO’s parade and All Ranks Lunch were held from 30th December 2016 to 01st January 2017 respectively.
