As of this morning (2), a total of 2,877 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were one foreigner, 31 Sri Lankan expatriates and the rest 2,845 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 654 from Gampaha District, 646 from Colombo District, 281 from Kalutara District and 1,264 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (2), a total of 189,240 persons, have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 91,964 were reported after the New Year.
By Tuesday (2) morning (past 24 hours), 1,631 recovered patients have left care centers. Only One death has been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rises to 1,527 by this morning (2).
By Tuesday (2) morning, 499 persons have left 18 QCs. As of this morning (2), 3,450 persons in 52 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.
By this morning (2) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged and movement restrictions that have been enforced would continue.
