Wanni Health Authorities Discuss Virus Control Measures

The Commander Security Forces-Wanni, Major General Hemantha Bandara as the Overall Coordinator of Prevention of Covid - 19 in the District of Vavuniya presided the coordinating conference on Friday (21) at the District Secretariat Office in Vavuniya, together with the participation of District Secretary - Vavuniya Mr S M Saman Bandulasena, Deputy Inspector General - Vavuniya, Regional Director of Health Services and other Government officials.

The purpose of the meeting was to control the fast-spreading of COVID- 19 pandemic in the district. The representative of the Office of Regional Director of Health Service Dr A Lavan briefed the situation emphasizing the importance of adhering to health instructions in order to prevent the rapid spreading of the virus among the community.

Thereafter all members discussed the prevailing situation and their responsibilities having attention to detail on uninterrupted distribution of essential food items through cooperative sector and how to facilitate farmers to attend to their farming. Further the discussion focused on the mechanism to prevent and control the spreading by identifying the first contacts of infected personnel.
