As of this morning (5), a total of 1914 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 54 Sri Lankan expatriates and 1860 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 542 from Gampaha District, 531 from Colombo District, 116 from Kalutara District, and 671 others from different Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (5), a total of 90,637 persons, inclusive of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster and 5,933 others have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 97,191 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 17,176 affected after the New Year are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
By Wednesday (5) morning, 115,589 persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the country and 99,153 of them after recovery have left hospitals and care centers. No death has been reported in the past 24 hours. As of this morning (5), 10,014 persons in 101 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. In the past 24 hours by 6.00 am today (5), 944 fully recovered patients left hospitals and Care Centers.
By this morning (5), at the time this announcement was released the number of isolated areas remains unchanged.
