As of this morning (22), a total of 578 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID -19 in the past 24 hours. 51 Sri Lankan expatriates including 11 foreigners and 516 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 171 from Kurunegala District, 51 from Puttalam District, 43 each from Colombo & Gampaha Districts and 251 others from different Districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (22) a total of 98,049 persons, inclusive of 92,938 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 93,667 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 3,753 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
In the past 24 hours, 121 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centers. Five more deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains at 630 by this morning (22).
As of this morning (22), 10,666 persons in 107 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (21), 7,548 PCR tests have been conducted.
