As of this morning (18), a total of 253 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 49 Sri Lankan expatriates and 204 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 57 from Colombo District, 33 from Kurunegala District, 22 from Gampaha District and 92others from different Districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (18), a total of 96,438 persons, inclusive of 91,499 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 92,831 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 2,990 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
In the past 24 hours, 221 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centers. Two deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains as 617 by this morning (18).
As of this morning (18), 10,338 persons in 104 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (17) 5,136 PCR tests have been conducted.
