Thirteen More Die of COVID-19-NOCPCO

As of this morning (18), a total of 722 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 9 Sri Lankan expatriates and 713 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 223 from Colombo district, 160 from Gampaha district, 49 from Kandy district and 281 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (18), a total of 77,905 persons, inclusive of 74,375 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 71,175 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,308 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 747 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. 13 more deaths have been reported from Weuda, Kalutara North, Maggona, Bombuwala, Kalutara, Neboda, Nuwara Eliya, Agarapathana, Gampola, Peliyagoda, Panadura and Nugegoda areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 422 by this morning (18).

As of this morning (18), 9,089 persons in 92 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (17) 13,585 PCR tests have been conducted.
