Quarantine Curfew to Continue till Monday, 9th November-Head NOCPCO

The Quarantine Curfew now in force in the western province against transmission of COVID-19 will continue from 5.00 am on Monday (2) till 9th November 2020, next week since the majority number of COVID-19 patients are reported from the western province. Similarly, Quarantine Curfew will be in effect in Kurunegala Town area, Kuliyapitiya and Eheliyagoda Police areas until Monday (9 November), so announced Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head, National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army in a special statement telecast this afternoon (1) at 4.00 p.m through the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Cooperation (SLRC) and other channels. He appealed the general public to cooperate at this critical juncture by restricting movements as much as possible and adhering to health guidelines.

In addition, Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Health contributing at the same occasion appealed to the public to be aware of the danger it poses to children and adults alike as their immunity capacities are not strong enough to resist the deadly virus.
