308 More Sri Lankans Repatriated from Japan and Myanmar -NOCPCO

A total of 308 more individuals were flown to Sri Lanka today (16) from Japan (234) by a Sri Lankan flight and from Myanmar (74) by a flight owned by Mynmar government. They all were taken to Army-managed Quarantine Centres (QCs) for quarantine process, a Media statement of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) issued on Saturday (16) stated.

102 individuals who underwent quarantining at tri service-managed Miyankulam (17), Minneriya (28) Ampara (15) and Naval family Quarantine Centres (42) after conduct of PCR tests on them left for their residences today (16) with Quarantine Certificates. By today (16), a total of 9374 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed Quarantine Centres (QC) have left for their homes.

As of now, 2734 persons are still in quarantine in 32 island-wide QCs, run by tri services. By today (16), heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stands at 488 in total. Of them, 177 after recovery and PCR tests were discharged. A group of 311 infected sailors are still under treatment in hospitals as of now, the statement ended.
