Fmr Senior Officer's Initiative Gets Disinfection & Patients' Examination Chambers

Management of the Brandix Apparel Solutions Ltd and East Link Engineering Company Pvt Ltd, determined to support the government's ongoing preventive fight against the deadly COVID-19 this evening (22) at the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) at Rajagiriya gifted a movable sophisticated disinfection chamber plus a newly-innovated cubicle for examination of patients.

Award of those two highly-sophisticated and scientifically-manufactured units was made possible through the good offices and the coordination of Major General (Retd) Udaya Perera, Group Head of Administration- Brandix Ltd who got in touch with the Head of the NOCPCO, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva afterwards for donation of both units.

Mrs Madara Silva, General Manager, Brandix Apparel Solutions Ltd, together with Mr Ajith Idikadullage, Managing Director, 'East Link Engineering Company Pvt Ltd' met Hon Minister Mrs Pavithra Wanniarachchi and Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and the Head NOCPCO and handed over both units to them for onward arrangements.

The disinfection chamber is worth approximately Rs 3.5 lakhs and the patients' cubicle is valued at about Rs 4.8 lakhs, according to those innovators. Both recipients thanked the donors for their timely generosity and the thoughtfulness over the need for such accessories and listened to the origins of their innovative products.

Both units are to be installed in the most wanted hospitals in due course in consultation with health authorities. Major General (Retd) Udaya Perera was also present at the location.
