Update: 223 more to leave for their homes after quarantine process

Three more individuals from London, United Kingdom were flown to Sri Lanka last night (30) by Sri Lankan flight UL 504. They all were taken to Army-managed Rajagiriya Ayurvedic Hospital Quarantine Centre (QC) for quarantine process, a statement issued by Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickremasinghe this morning (31) on behalf of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

A total of 233 individuals upon completion of quarantine process at tri service-managed ITUM -Diyagama (158), Sport Complex - Diyagama (01), Punanai (18), Kundasale (32) and Pallekele (14) Quarantine Centres are ready to leave for their native places after conduct of PCR tests today (31) with Quarantine Certificates. By today (31), a total of 11,252 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed QC have left for their homes.

As of now, 5,318 persons are still in quarantine in 46 island-wide QCs, run by tri services. By today (31), heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stands at 750 in total. In the past 24 hours, 25 more sailors were confirmed positive to COVID-19 infection of them, 388 after full recovery and PCR tests were discharged from hospitals. A group of 362 infected sailors are still under treatment in hospitals as of now, the statement end.
