Students from India Flown Back Home- Head of NOCPCO

The routine Media interaction at the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) at Rajagiriya took place this afternoon (25), headed by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Dr Anil Jasinghe, Director General of Health Services and Attorney-at Law Ajith Rohana, Deputy Inspector General of Police.

"A group of Sri Lankan students were flown back to Sri Lanka this evening (25) from Mumbai, India by Passenger Air Craft and were taken to the Army-managed Quarantine Centres (QCs) for quarantine process.

A total of 82 quarantined individuals from the Army-managed Puttalam Zahira college Quarantine Centre (QC) after conduct of PCR tests left for their residences this morning (25) with Quarantine Certificates. Accordingly, this QC was being disinfected. With this, a total of 4485 quarantined individuals have left those QCs, manned by tri services as of today (25). 2910 individuals in tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine,” so said Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.
