Hemas Holdings PLC in a bid to assist the Army for its ongoing fight against transmission of the COVID-19 virus donated a stock of 1000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) overalls to the staff working at the Colombo Army Hospital, Narahenpita on Wednesday (12).
Considering the extensive use of such overalls for management of patients since the existing ICU facilities have now been added with 6 more new beds in the hospital on the directions of General Shavendra Silva, Head, NOCPCO, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army in consultation with Brigadier Crishantha Fernando, Director General Army Health Services, the donors through coordination of Lieutenant Colonel Dr Champika Abeysinghe, Consultant Anaesthetist in the Intensive Care Unit at Army Hospital arrived at the premises and donated the stock.
Mr Abbas Esufally, Group Director representing Hemas Holdings PLC was present at the time the donation was made and the supply was facilitated by Ms Kasthuri Chellaraja, Group CEO Hemas Holdings PLC. Lieutenant Colonel Dr Champika Abeysinghe, Consultant Anaesthetist in the Intensive Care at Colombo Army Hospital on behalf of the hospital management accepted the donation.
