Giving a boost to the Army-improvised Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) at Seeduwa, now almost done, the management of Upfield Sri Lanka Pvt Ltd this morning (17) gifted 10 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds to the Army for use in the new ICC in case of any emergency.
Mr Anuruddha Aluvihare, Country Head and Customer Development Director, Upfield Sri Lanka Pvt Ltd after meeting General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters symbolically presented one such bed.
The Army Chief, highly appreciative of the gesture and the company's concern towards the medical need thanked Mr Anuruddha Aluvihare, a personal friend of the Army Chief and all those who coordinated the donation to the new ICC. After the symbolic receipt of the first ICU bed, General Shavendra Silva awarded a memento to the donor.
Brigadier Nishantha Pathirana, Director Medical Services was also associated with the occasion.
