As of this morning (4), a total of 356 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 21 Sri Lankan expatriates and 335 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 104 from Colombo district, 63 from Gampaha district, 35 from Ratnapura district and 133 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (4), a total of 84,225 persons, inclusive of 80,599 of the fish market and Minuwangoda ‘Brandix’ cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 80,437 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 3,304 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
In the past 24 hours, 417 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. One more death has been reported from Eravur area in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 484 by this morning (4).
As of this morning (4), 9,903 persons in 95 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (3) 10,786 PCR tests have been conducted.
