National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak Appeals All Entered without Quarantine to Register Immediately

Seven more COVID-19 positive cases have been identified in Sri Lanka while raising the total number of patients up to 70 as of this afternoon (20), the routine Media briefing at the National Operational Center for Prevention of COVID -19, headed by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army was told this afternoon (20)

Accordingly 2738 individuals are now being quarantined at 17 Quarantine Centers, of them there are 30 foreigners.

Also another 97 Air Passengers those who had arrived to Sri Lanka from Chennai India after a pilgrimage by the Sri Lankan Air Lines UL 122, have being taken in to the quarantine centers

The National Operational Center for Prevention of COVID -19 still calls upon all individuals who had entered Sri Lanka and moved out afterwards without undergoing quarantine process to come forward and get themselves registered under the government's quarantine process.

Meanwhile, the government had enforced Police curfew Island-wide from 1800 hrs today (20) until 0600 hrs on Monday (23) morning. However, the employees those engaged in essential services can report to their working places during the curfew hours by showing their relevant service Identity Cards.
