More Sri Lankans Arrived - NOCPCO

The Flight No UL -1282 from Pakistan arrived in Sri Lanka today (15) with 130 Sri Lankans. Of them, 61 are military personnel and all of them were sent to QCs managed by tri service for necessary quarantine process. A statement issued this morning (15) by Military Spokesman, Brigadier Chandana Wickramasinghe on behalf of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

222 individuals after completion of the quarantine process at Brandix Poonani (08), CTS Ampara (29), Pelwehera (88), Hotel Shelton (07) and 59 Division Training school (90) Quarantine Centres will leave for their homes today (15) after the conduct of PCR tests and with Quarantine Certificates.

By today (15), a total of 13,875 quarantined individuals from Tri service-managed QCs have left for their homes.

As of now, 4,387 persons are still in quarantine in 43 island-wide QCs, run by tri services.

By this morning (0600 am), 5 more COVID-19 positive cases were reported. All of them are heroic sailors. 4 more heroic sailors recovered and left hospitals.

As of now, heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stand at 882 in total. Of them, 708 after full recovery and PCR tests were discharged from hospitals. A total of 174 infected sailors are still under treatment in hospitals as of now, the statement concluded.
