Sri Lankan Airlines Flight UL 1206 this morning (6) brought down one more batch of 235 Sri Lankan expatriates from Hamburg, Germany to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport on a directive given by HE the President.
The group included 235 civil ship crew members stranded in foreign ports. They all were referred to the Army-managed Eden Resort Hotel, Beruwala, Kaluwamodara to quarantine process after medical examinations.
A statement issued this evening (6) by Military Spokesman, Brigadier Chandana Wickremasinghe on behalf of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
SG 9067 aircraft will arrive in Sri Lanka around 8.30 pm from Mumbai with 78 expatriates this evening (6).
QR 668 aircraft will arrive tomorrow (7) at around 0145 a.m. with 4 staff members of United States Embassy of Sri Lanka and UL 504 air craft is expected to arrive from the United Kingdom with 291 expatriates around 0245 a.m.
338 individuals after completion of the two-week-long quarantine process, left for their homes this morning (6) from Hotel Blue Waters (16), Iranamadu (70), Galkanda (46), Pitipana Service Corps (159), Ayurvedic Hospital Rajagiriya (42) and Nipuna Boossa (05) Quarantine Centres (QCs) after completion of medical procedures and receipt of their Quarantine Certificates.
By today (6), a total of 12,071 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed QCs have left for their homes.
As of now, 4,878 persons are still in quarantine in 45 island-wide QCs, run by tri services, the statement concluded.
