Majority of Infectees Still from Colombo - NOCPCO

As of this morning (19), a total of 514 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 13 Sri Lankan expatriates and 501 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 105 from Colombo district, 68 from Gampaha district, 68 from Kandy district and 260 others from different districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (19), a total of 78,419 persons, inclusive of 74,876 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 71,822 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 6,167 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 647 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centres. 8 more deaths have been reported from Wattala, Dematagoda, Keselwatta, Meegoda, Ridemaliyadda, Colombo 8, Colombo 10 and Dekatana areas in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rose to 430 by this morning (19).

As of this morning (19), 9,268 persons in 93 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (18), 15,386 PCR tests have been conducted.
