Legalizing Possibilities of Health Rules Discussed at Task Force Meeting

The Presidential Task Force (PTF) at the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), co-chaired by Mrs Pavithra Wanniarchchi, Hon Minister of Health and Indigenous Medical Services, Head of the NOCPCO, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army and Medical Specialist Dr Anil Jasingha, Director General Health Services had one more session of discussion this evening (20), together with experts and other stake holders this evening (20) at the NOCPCO in Rajagiriya.

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva welcomed the members of the Presidential Task Force and guests at first and stated the purpose of the meeting. All of them evaluated updates and touched on the question of continued health safety for the general public. Discussions focused on possibilities of legalizing general health rules for the benefit of the general public and promotion of health tourism across the country as a viable alternative to attract tourists in the future.

They also took stock of the status quo, risks persisting, conduct of PRC tests, arrival of expatriates and the progress of ongoing preventive work, quarantine procedures, movements of cured patients, outside developments and weather impacts, etc. present status of the epidemic.
