Extending their helping hand and appreciating unmatched roles of tri-servicemen in the fight against COVID-19, the company, IME Korea and SD Biosensors through their local counterparts after calling at the Commander’s Office this afternoon (18) jointly gifted a stock of facemasks for the use of servicemen, engaged in preventive work and rapid antigen test kits for COVID-19 diagnoses.
The joint donation from both companies dealing with global in-vitro diagnostic requirements has been made possible, thanks to an initiative taken by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Seoul, Korea in close consultation with General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID -19 Outbreak and the stock included 8,000 facemasks and 10,000 rapid antigen test kits to the value of about Rs 25 million.
General Shavendra Silva accepting the donation symbolically at the Army Headquarters in Sri Jayawardenepura, commended the donors’ thoughtfulness and appreciation of the role, being performed by tri-servicemen against COVID-19 transmission.
The local partners of those Korean companies, Mr Warrick SEO, Director, Seek Energy Private Limited, Country Head, Mr Rumesh Ubayasiri, Seek Energy Private Limited and Mr Udara Senanayake, Assistant Manager, Seek Energy Private Limited were present during the meet with the Commander of the Army.
During the interaction, General Shavendra Silva explained the series of preventive measures, being implemented by the troops, irrespective of day and night and the commitment of troops, health workers and other stakeholders against its transmission.
