A total of 271 more individuals, including students and state officials are to be flown to Sri Lanka at midnight (28) from Belarus by the Sri Lankan Flight UL 1206 and they all are to be taken to tri service-managed Quarantine Centres (QCs) for quarantine process, a media statement issued today (28) by the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
It went on to state: 33 individuals who underwent quarantining at Army-managed Gold Sand Hotel (28), Diyagama ITUM (1), Nipuna Booossa (3) and Ruwala (1) Quarantine Centres after conduct of PCR tests on them left for their residences today (28) with Quarantine Certificates. Accordingly, by today (28), a total of 11,040 individuals quarantined in tri service-managed Quarantine Centres (QC) have left for their homes.
As of now, 4836 persons are still in quarantine in island-wide 44 QCs, run by tri services. By today (28), heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stands at 682 in total, including 53 sailors in the past 24 hours. Out of them, fully recovered 351 infected sailors have left hospitals and the rest still under treatment in hospitals stand at 331, the statement concluded.
