The routing Media briefing was held at the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) at Rajagiriya took place this afternoon (28), headed by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army and Medical Specialist Dr Anil Jasinghe, Director General of Health Services.
"A total of 164 individuals were flown to Sri Lanka today (28) from Banglore in India by Flight UL-1172 and are now being taken to the tri service-managed Quarantine Centre (QCs) for quarantine process," Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said.
Today (28), a batch of 77 quarantined individuals from Akkaraipattu, 75 from the Army-managed Damminna Quarantine Centre (QC) and 2 from Punani QC after conduct of PCR tests left for their residences with Quarantine Certificates. With this, a total of 4526 quarantined individuals have left those QCs, manned by tri services as of today (28). Likewise, all family members of heroic infected Navy personnel and people who have had contacts with them were directed today (28) to QCs for quarantining," remarked Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.
