563 Recovered Patients Leave Hospitals-NOCPCO

As of this morning (7), a total of 400 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. All of them were from locally-identified affectees, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (7), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory stands at 9,496. Of them, 1,041 are factory employees, 1,007 persons from Peliyagoda Fish Market and other 7,448 are locally-identified contacts of those garment factory-infected employees and the fish market. Of these, 412 employees of the Minuwangoda garment factory have fully recovered and 2,788 of their associates have been discharged from hospitals.

The flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 18 passengers, the flight EY 664 from Abu Dhabi with 1 passenger and the flight UL 1026 from India with 11 passengers arrived in Colombo. All those passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (7), one quarantined individual from Hotel Mount Lavinia QC after PCR tests is set to leave for his home.

To-date, 63,730 individuals have left for homes after quarantining. As of this morning (7), 2,400 persons in 30 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (6), 11,824 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 580,598.

By 6.00 this morning (7), 563 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals. Of them, 1 person was a foreigner and other 562 persons are identified as close contacts of the Minuwangoda garment factory-infected employees who were in quarantine at QCs. (Ends)
