53 Grama Niladhari Divisions Continue to Remain Isolated-NOCPCO

As of this morning (22), a total of 2,131 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them, 33 were Sri Lankan expatriates. The rest 2,098 were locally-identified positive cases, including the majority 271 from Gampaha District, 229 from Colombo District, 208 from Ratnapura District and 1,390 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (22), a total of 241,819 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 135,957 were reported after the New Year.

By Tuesday (22) morning (past 24 hours), 1,898 recovered patients have left Intermediate Care Centers and Hospitals. 52 deaths have been reported including 30 males and 22 females on 20 June 2021.

By Tuesday (22) morning, 546 persons have left 15 QCs after completion of their quarantining process. As of this morning (22), 7,807 persons in 73 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

With the removal of isolation of the one GN Division this morning, 340 GN Divisions and 9 Police Divisions have so far been removed from isolation. Likewise, 53 GN Divisions, together with two GN Divisions that were brought under isolation this morning (22) continue to remain isolated. Re-imposition of relaxed travel restrictions would come into effect on Wednesday (23) by 10.00 pm.
