As of this morning (24), a total of 969 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID -19 in the past 24 hours. 38 Sri Lankan expatriates and 931 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 251 from Kurunegala District, 236 from Gampaha District, 194 from Colombo District and 250 others from different Districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (24), a total of 99,690 persons, inclusive of 94,526 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 94,035 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 5,021 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
In the past 24 hours, 151 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centers. No deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains at 634 by this morning (24).
As of this morning (24), 10,643 persons in 111 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (23), 12,439 PCR tests have been conducted.
