As of this morning (26), a total of 2,728 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. One foreigner, 21 Sri Lankan expatriates and 2,706 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 558 from Gampaha District, 522 from Colombo District, 476 from Kalutara District and 1,150 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By this morning (26), a total of 169,899 persons, have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 72,868 were reported after the New Year. 141,174 of them after recovery have left hospitals. A total of 26,226 affected are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.
By Wednesday (26) morning (past 24 hours), 1,228 recovered patients have left care centers. 5 more deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains at 1,269 by this morning (26).
By Wednesday (26) morning, 88 persons have left 6 QCs. As of this morning (26), 6,287 persons in 67 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.
By this morning (26) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged other than the isolated areas that have been lifted and movement restrictions that have been imposed would continue.
