375 Sailors Are Still in Hospitals - NOCPCO

SG 9067 aircraft arrived from Mumbai to Colombo last night (6) with 86 expatriates. Likewise, the flight UL 504 will arrive from the United Kingdom with 278 passengers this morning (7).

A statement issued this morning (7) by Military Spokesman, Brigadier Chandana Wickremasinghe on behalf of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

117 more individuals upon completion of quarantine process at Hotel Blue Waters Quarantine Centre will leave for their homes after conduct of PCR tests today (7) with Quarantine Certificates.

By today (7), a total of 12,090 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed QCs have left for their homes.

As of now, 5,135 persons are still in quarantine in 43 island-wide QCs, run by tri services.

By this morning 13 more COVID-19 positive cases, 3 from Russia, 1 from Kuwait and 09 heroic sailors were reported.

In the meantime, 33 heroic sailors were discharged from hospitals after full recovery.

By today (7), heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stand at 847 in total. Of them, 472 after full recovery and PCR tests were discharged from hospitals. A total of 375 infected sailors are still under treatment in hospitals as of now, the statement ended.
