A total of 285 more individuals from Australia and 18 from Mumbai, India were flown to Sri Lanka this morning (30) by Sri Lankan flights UL 605 and UL 1042 respectively. They all were taken to tri service-managed Quarantine Centres (QCs) for quarantine process, a Media statement issued by Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickremasinghe on Saturday (30) on behalf of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.
A total of 179 individuals upon completion of quarantine process at tri service-managed Gold Sand (69), Rajagiriya Ayurveda Hospital (109) and Hotel Blue Water (1) Quarantine Centres after conduct of PCR tests on them left for their residences today (30) with Quarantine Certificates. By today (30), a total of 11, 236 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed Quarantine Centres (QC) have left for their homes.
As of now, 5,289 persons are still in quarantine in 43 island-wide QCs, run by tri services. By today (30), heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stands at 730 in total. In the past 24 hours, 5 more sailors were confirmed positive to COVID-19 infection. Of them, 361 after full recovery and PCR tests were discharged from hospitals. A group of 369 infected sailors are still under treatment in hospitals as of now, the statement ended.
