As of this morning (12), a total of 2568 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The majority of 606 are from Colombo District. Among them, were 53 from Colombo, 40 from Mulleriyawa, 36 from Piliyandala and 30 from Kottawa, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
Similarly, 417 positive cases were reported from Kalutara District including 102 from Panadura south, 58 from Milaniya, 36 from Dodangoda and 35 from Kalutara South.
Meanwhile, 300 patients were reported from Gampaha District, including the majority 62 from Katunayake, 35 from Negombo and 31 from Ja Ela area and others from different areas in Colombo.
Accordingly, in the past 24 hours, 1323 patients were reported from Colombo, Kalutara, and Gampaha Districts. Other 1245 patients were reported as follows: 196 from Kurunegala, 148 from Galle, 110 from Kandy, 108 from Matale, 90 from Anuradhapura, 64 from both Nuwara Eliya & Rathnapura Districts, 61 from Jaffna,57 from Polonnaruwa,41 from Hambantota,37 from Puttalam,29 from from both Monaragala and Matara Districts, 27 both from Batticaloa and Ampara Districts, 25 from Kilinochchi,24 from Mullaittivu District, 23 from Trincomalee District,6 from Kegalle District and 5 from Vavuniya District.
