As of this morning (18), a total of 2456 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The majority of 677 are from Gampaha District. Among them, the majority 136 were from Biyagama town area, 83 from Nittambuwa, 72 from Kadawatha and 58 from Wattala, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
Similarly, 320 positive cases were reported from Colombo District, including 52 from Mount Lavinia, 35 from Homagama, 25 from Boralesgamuwa, 22 from Moratuwa area and others from different areas in the District.
Meanwhile, 315 patients were reported from Kalutara District, including the majority 55 from Kalutara south town area, 43 from Moaragahahena, 40 from Kalutara North area and others from different areas in Kalutara.
Accordingly, in the past 24 hours, 1312 patients were reported from Gampaha, Colombo and Kalutara Districts. Other 1144 patients were reported as follows: 259 from Galle, 255 from Mullaittivu, 84 from Matara, 82 from Polonnaruwa, 60 from Kegalle, 56 from Ratnapura District, 51 from Puttalam, 50 from Badulla, 46 from Matale, 34 from Kandy, 25 from Nuwara Eliya, 23 from Ampara, 20 from Monaragala, 19 from Hambanthota District, 17 from Kilinochchi, 11 from Anuradapura District, 5 from Mannar and Kegalle Districts and two from Jaffna Districts.
