2377 More New Cases Identified -NOCPCO

As of this morning (27), a total of 2,377 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Two foreigners, 50 Sri Lankan expatriates and 2,325 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 573 from Colombo District, 530 from Gampaha District, 257 from Kandy District and 965 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (27), a total of 172,276 persons have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them 75,193 were reported after the New Year. 142,377 of them after recovery have left hospitals. The affected 27,398 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

By Monday (27) morning (past 24 hours), 1,203 recovered patients have left care centers. 2 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains at 1,298 by this morning (27).

By Monday (27) morning, 430 persons have left 12 QCs. As of this morning (27), 5,947 persons in 67 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By this morning (27) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged and movement restrictions that have been imposed would continue.
