177 More Sri Lankans to Return from Mumbai

The Flight No UL -1026 from Chennai with 53 passengers arrived in Sri Lanka this afternoon (17) and the Flight No 6E-9091 from Mumbai with 177 passengers will arrive in Sri Lanka this evening (17). All of them will be sent to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri services for necessary quarantine process, a Media Release issued this evening (17) by the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) at Rajagiriya stated.

Only two individuals after completion of the quarantine process at Blue water Hotel Wadduwa left for their homes today (17) after conduct of PCR tests and with Quarantine Certificates. By Wednesday (17), a total of 14,393 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed QCs have left for their homes.

As of now, 4,124 persons are in quarantine in 40 island-wide QCs, run by tri services. By this evening (1600 hours), 08 more COVID-19 positive cases were reported. Of them, 05 were from Chennai, Bangladesh (2) arrivals and one sailor. Similarly, 26 personnel, 21 overseas-based Sri Lankans and 05 heroic sailors after recovery left hospitals today (17).

As of now, heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stand at 900 in total. Of them, 768 after full recovery and PCR tests were discharged from hospitals. A total of 132 infected sailors are still under treatment in hospitals as of now, the statement ended.
