127 More Local Contacts Identified - NOCPCO

By this morning (15), a total of 132 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them 05 are employees of the Minuwangoda garment factory and other 127 were locally-identified close contacts of Minuwangoda garment factory-infected employees, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (15), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory is 1723. Of them, 1,041 are factory employees and other 682 are locally-identified close contacts of the garment factory-infected employees.

By this morning, the flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar arrived with 34 passengers and all of them were sent to the tri forces-managed Quarantine Centres after PCR tests.

Within the day (15), 254 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 01 person is from Ruwala Kalpitiya QC, 12 persons from Sampur QC, 117 persons from Vidaththapalei QC, 18 persons from Rajagiriya Ayurvedic QC, 7 persons from Pitipana QC, 90 persons from Club farm Marawila QC and 09 persons from Hotel Jetwing Blue QC.

Likewise, 52,612 individuals as of this morning (15) have so far left home after quarantining. As of this morning (15), 9,703 persons in 88 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (14), 9974 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 348,909.

By 6.00 this morning (15), 29 fully recovered COVID-19-affectees went back home from hospitals. They were expatriates who were in quarantine. (Ends)
