SNCOLC 28 CLINCHES WIN IN EXCITING CRICKET CLASH AT ASL GROUNDS

The Army School of Logistics (ASL) successfully conducted the friendly cricket tournament of the Senior Non Commissioned Officers' Logistics Course 28 (SNCOLC 28) on 2 April 2026 at the ASL grounds. The occasion was graced by the Commandant ASL, Brigadier DIS Jayasinghe ndc psc who attended as the Chief Guest.

Winning the toss, the ASL permanent staff team elected to bat first and posted a total of 78 runs for the loss of 7 wickets at the conclusion of their allotted 10 overs. In response, the SNCOLC 28 team delivered an impressive performance, successfully chasing down the target by scoring 82 runs in 4 wickets and winning the game.

The awards ceremony was conducted with the participation of the Commandant, Brigadier Sudheera Jayasinghe, who was accompanied by the Chief Instructor, Colonel Riyaz Mohamed, in presenting trophies to the winners and outstanding performers. Warrant Officer II Dissanayaka KGPK RSP was adjudged the Best Bowler, while Staff Sergeant Madhuranga VGA was recognized as the Best Batsman. Warrant Officer II Attanayake IMLK became the Man of the Match for his commendable performance.

The event substantially contributed to the student’ acquisition of practical knowledge in event management effectively augmenting their organisational capabilities. It highlighted the values of sportsmanship, teamwork and camaraderie, fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation among all participants.
