The Logistics Staff Course 12 (LSC 12) was formally inaugurated on 12 January 2026 at the Army School of Logistics (ASL) with a dignified opening ceremony. The proceedings commenced with the opening remarks delivered by the Commandant ASL, Brigadier DIS Jayasinghe ndc psc who warmly welcomed the course participants and set the tone for the programme. In his address, the Commandant underscored the critical role of logistics in modern military operations and highlighted the importance of professional competence, leadership and adaptability in meeting contemporary and future operational challenges. He further emphasized the expectations of the institution and encouraged officers to fully engage in the academic and practical components of the course to maximize professional development.
Following the Commandant’s address, the Chief Instructor, Colonel MSR Mohamed Lsc, delivered a comprehensive course briefing, outlining the aim, structure, syllabus, training methodology and assessment criteria of LSC 12. His briefing provided the officers with a clear understanding of the course framework and the standards expected throughout the training period. Thereafter, the Administrative Briefing was conducted by the Staff Officer 1 (Admin and Quartering), Lieutenant Colonel DMCM Weerakoon Lsc SLEME, who briefed the officers on administrative procedures, welfare matters and logistical arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the course.
Later in the day, the student officers appeared for the Opening Gambit marking the official commencement of academic process of LSC 12 and symbolizing the beginning of an intensive and professionally enriching training programme for all participating officers.
