ARMY SCHOOL OF LOGISTICS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE QUARTERMASTERS COMMISSIONING COURSE NO 6

The Quartermasters Commissioning Course (QMCC) No 6 culminated at Army School of Logistics (ASL) at Trincomalee on Thursday (21) December 2023.

Commencing on 09 October 2023, eighty-five (85) Warrant Officers from the various Regiments in the SL Army successfully completed Course No 06 and passed out as Probations Officers (PO) concluding another chapter in the history of the ASL. The course was designed to transform qualified and suitable selected Warrant Officers of the Sri Lanka Army Regular Force and Volunteer Force to qualify as Quartermasters.

The Adorning of Insignias Parade and Certificate awarding of the Quartermasters Commissioning Course No – 6 was ceremonially held at the ASL. This memorable occasion was graced by the Commandant ASL, Colonel YKS Rangika psc ptsc as the Chief Guest.

On his arrival, the Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by Colonel DMMC Wijerathna Lsc the Chief Instructor of ASL.

Adding to the proceedings, the Probation Ranks were adorned to the Warrant Officers who passed out as POs and they were awarded the Canes by the Chief Guest. Furthermore, they received their certificates and PO EPRK Edirisinghe SLE who obtained the highest aggregate at the course was awarded with a special token of appreciation by the Chief Guest at the ceremony.

The Commandant made a brief address on the occasion and reminded the Probation Officers of the prominence of upholding their attitudes as officers in the future. Further, the Chief Guest specially emphasized that while maintaining their positions as Quartermasters, they should serve the Army which will pave the way to make them efficient and effective Officers in the Army. Moreover, the Commandant explained the significance of the role of Quartermasters as equipment managers in the Army.

The Chief Guest together with the Faculty Members and Permanent Staff of the ASL and new Probation Officers posed for a group photograph and this was followed by refreshments enjoyed by all.
