EXERCISE WISE CAMEL

The Exercise “WISE CAMEL”, the final major exercise for the final term of the Logistics Staff Course No 9 was conducted from 24 November 2023 to 29 November 2023. This exercise designed in the setup of a CPEX which includes one side MAPEX/TWET and War Game. The main objective of this exercise is to develop a thorough and further understanding of the mechanism involved in planning, conduct and movement of formations and execution of Administration/ Logistics function of a Divisional Administration Area (DAA) during a defensive operation.

This Exercise enhanced the ability of Student Officers in application of theories and principles on actual ground. This incorporates the Student Officers to proceed on a ground reconnaissance in the general area Morawewa/Horowpathana and to formulate a Combat Service Support Plan for a defensive operation by sitting a DAA after consideration of the tactical and technical factors. During the exercise all Student Officers were able to understand the importance of evaluation of terrain and use of available communication infrastructure while planning movement of forces and logistics build up and Judicious utilization of available resources in order to attain optimum results.

Finally, Ex Wise Camel was followed by a RIC on 30 November 23 in order to evaluate how well the Student Officers have absorbed and understood the concept during the exercise.

This exercise was conducted under the guidance of the Commandant of ASL Brigadier HAM Premaratne psc Lsc, Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors and Directing Staff of ASL.
