EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO LANKA INDIAN OIL CORPORATION PLC -TRINCOMALEE OF LOGISTICS STAFF COURSE NO 10

As a part of the academic curriculum, local visits are arranged to strategic locations and institutions to provide Student Officers with a wider exposure and first-hand knowledge of various fields in Logistics Operations.

Accordingly, under the directions and guidance of Brigadier RT Lokuthotahewa USP psc the Commandant of Army School of Logistics (ASL), a delegation comprised of Chief Instructor, Senior Instructor, Members of the faculty, and Students Officers of LSC No 10 paid a visit to Lanka IOC PLC on 07 February 2024.

The ASL Delegation was welcomed by the Senior Vice President Mr. D Mukherjee and other senior officials of Lanka IOC PLC. They conducted comprehensive briefings on Lanka IOC PLC and the historical significance of the oil storing site. Subsequently, the Student Officers continued with field visit in Jetty, Gantry, Lube Blending Plant, LAB and Tank Farm. Later, they were accompanied to the J KAB Beach Hotel Trincomalee to conduct the workshop. The Student Officers participated for informative and fruitful lectures and a very stimulating Q&A session. At the end of the workshop Student Officers were awarded with certificates. The Chief Instructor awarded a memento to mark the visit.
