VISIT TO SRI LANKA AIR FORCE ACADEMY-CHINABAY BY JUNIOR OFFICERS LOGISTICS COURSE NO 19

With the purpose of educating the Student Officers of Junior Officers Logistics Course No 19 on Logistics Systems of Sister Services an educational field visit to Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay was held on 31 May 2023.

Student Officers of JOLC No 19 were warmly welcomed by the Officers of the SLAF Academy and the tour started with a comprehensive briefing on the History of Sri Lanka Air Force and about the Logistics Branch and Logistics functions of the Sri Lanka Air Force. The Officers visited the forward Supply Stores and received a briefing on the functions of the system.

After that the Students visited the Airmen and Women Mess and witnessed the rationing system of the SLAF for other rankers and also the ration and fuel storage facilities available at SLAF Base, China Bay. Further, a display of fuel samples checking and briefing on No 1 Flying Wing and aircraft available were also conducted.

Finally, the Student Officers of JOLC No 19 were provided with refreshment at the Officers’ Mess. As a token of appreciation on behalf of the Army School of Logistics, the Chief Instructor Colonel GTS Silva USP QLCO Lsc ato presented a memento to the Commandant Air Commodore SDGM Silva WWV, RSP, USP, MSc (Mil Stu), MSc (Strat Stu), BSc (Def Stu), Pg Dip (IR), fawc, rcds, psc of the SLAF Academy at the end of the visit.
