VISIT TO THE NAVAL AND MARITIME ACADEMY BY LOGISTICS STAFF COURSE NO - 09

A delegation of ASL, comprising Student Officers following the Logistics Staff Course No 09 and Members of the Faculty led by the Chief Instructor visited Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee on 31 July 2023.

This visit was organized as a part of the course curriculum of the Logistics Staff Course with a prime objective to experience the diverse logistics systems which are implementing in sister services. Moreover, this visit has given an impressive opportunity to enhance the comparative knowledge of Student Officers on the field of logistics in the Naval background.

The delegation of ASL was warmly welcomed by the Senior Navy Officers followed by a briefing on the history and the role of the Academy. During the visit Student Officers visited the Commodore Superintendent Logistics Department (CSLOGD) (E) complex and briefings were conducted on Naval Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS), Procurement Management, Warehouse Management, Material Management and Issuing Procedures that provided a plenty of information on Naval Logistics Operations.

As the major element of the visit, they were given an exceptional opportunity to visit one of the significant coast guard naval ship "Sayura". Moreover, the afternoon session was comprised with a delicious lunch and a visit to the Victualling Stores.

The occasion was marked with an exchange of mementoes between the Chief Instructor ASL, Col GTS Silva USP QLCO Lsc ato and the Training Captain of the Naval and Maritime Academy Captain HAC Priyantha RWP RSP & Bar psc.
