The Graduation Ceremony of the Logistics Staff Course was held at the auditorium of Faculty of Graduate Studies, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University on 11 December 2025 with distinction, marking the successful completion of an intensive year's period of academic study, practical training, and professional development for the graduates.
The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General BKGML Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG; graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was welcomed by Commandant of the Army School of Logistics Brigadier RT Lokuthotahewa USP psc. The event brought together respected senior officers including the Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University Rear Admiral HGU Dammika Kumara VSV USP psc MMaritimePol Bsc (DS), Chairman Board of Management Army School of Logistics and the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army Major General DKSK Dolage USP nps psc, Deputy Chief of Staff Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Principle Staff Officers, Faculty Members, former Commandants of Army School of Logistics, Foreign dignitaries, distinguished guests and families to celebrate the achievements of officers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing their expertise in logistics management and operational support.
In his welcome address, the Commandant of Army School of Logistics highlighted the strategic importance of logistics in ensuring mission readiness and organizational efficiency across all operational environments. He commended the graduating officers for their discipline, resilience, and intellectual curiosity throughout the course, emphasizing that their newly acquired competencies will significantly enhance their ability to plan, coordinate and execute complex logistical operations.
Thirty-six graduates who excelled academically and demonstrated exemplary leadership, teamwork, and innovation received their parchments from the Chief Guest, the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG. These recognitions underscored the high standards of excellence maintained by the programme and reinforced the institution’s commitment to nurturing professionals capable of driving organizational success.
In delivering the keynote address, the Chief Guest commended the Logistics Staff Course 11 which is consisted of 31 middle grade officers from the Sri Lanka Army, officer from Sri Lanka Navy, two officers from Sri Lanka Air Force, an officer from the Bangladesh Army and an officer from the Zambian Army for embracing the demands of the course and underscored the vital role of logistics in national development and security. He urged the graduates to apply their knowledge with integrity, professionalism, and a forward-looking mind-set as they return to their respective units and establishments. In appreciation of his gracious presence, the Commandant Army School of Logistics presented him with a token of appreciation. The Commander of the Army returned his courtesy.
The annual publication of the Army School of Logistics, “The Golden Log 2025” was e-launched by the Commander of the Army upon receiving the first copy of the printed version, ceremonially. The event concluded with paying homage to the National Anthem, followed by a group photograph. The atmosphere was one of pride, accomplishment, and optimism as graduates celebrated this significant milestone alongside colleagues, mentors and loved ones.
The Graduation Ceremony reaffirmed the institution’s reputation as a centre of excellence in logistics education and training. The achievements of the graduates stand as a testament to their dedication and the high-quality instruction provided throughout the course. They now join a distinguished cadre of logistics professionals with the post nominal “Lsc” and poised to contribute meaningfully to organizational efficiency, operational success and the broader national mission.
