THE NEW COMMANDANT OF THE ARMY SCHOOL OF LOGISTICS ASSUMES DUTIES

Brigadier DIS Jayasinghe ndc psc, has formally assumed duties on 15 December 2025 as the twelveth Commandant of the Army School of Logistics (ASL) which is the premium seat for the logistics studies in the Sri Lanka Army. After performing religious observance and paying homage to the triple gems, the new Commandant marked assuming the office by placing signature on an official document amidst the pirith chanting.

In taking up this key leadership role, Brigadier DIS Jayasinghe ndc psc, succeeds his predecessor Brigadier RT Lokuthotahewa USP psc and embraces the responsibility of guiding the School in its core mission of developing highly competent logisticians who can effectively support the operational readiness and administrative efficiency of the Army. His assumption of office underscores the Army’s continued commitment to strengthening its logistics and support capabilities an essential pillar in both peace and contingency operations.

As Commandant, Brigadier DIS Jayasinghe ndc psc will oversee the full spectrum of ASL’s training programmes, including the prestigious Logistics Staff Course (LSC), Junior Officer’s Logistics Course (JOLC), Quartermasters' Commissioning Course (QMCC) and Senior Non Commissioned Officers' Logistics Course (SNCOLC) of specialised professional development initiatives for Officers and Other Ranks.

Under his stewardship, the ASL is expected to further elevate its training standards, foster innovative approaches to logistic challenges and maintain strong linkages with both national and international defence partners.

The Chief Instructor, Faculty members and permanent staff of the School have extended their congratulations to the new Commandant as he embarks on this new chapter of leadership and service.
