The Graduation Ceremony of the Logistics Staff Course (LSC) No 9 was held at the Defence Services College, auditorium yesterday (13 December 2023). Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Commander was welcomed by the Commandant of ASL, Col YKS Rangika psc ptsc.
The Logistics Staff Course No 9 commenced on 02 January 2023 and concluded on 13 December 2023. A total of 35 Officers comprising of 32 Officers from the Sri Lanka Army, 2 Officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force, and a foreign Officer from Nepali Army participated for this Course.
The LSC as the highest professional course in the fields of Administration and Logistics is conducted under the direct guidance of the Sri Lanka Army. The Logistics Staff Course is conducted as a full time residential course for a period of one year, which qualifies them with the post nominal ‘Lsc’ upon completion. The Army School of Logistics is affiliated to General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) that awards the Master of Business Administration in Logistics Management (MBA in LM).
All successful graduates received their parchments from the Chief Guest in the order of precedence. Special Awards were awarded to graduates who have excelled in academic achievements.
The Best Student Officer was awarded to Major J C Ruwanpathirana CES and the Best Logistics Planner is awarded to Major RCNB Rankothgedara SLLI.
"The Golden Log 2023”, the annual journal of the ASL was launched and presented to the Chief Guest and the other distinguished guests during the ceremony.
The Commander of the Army, Heads of Diplomatic Missions and other members of the Diplomatic Corps, Members of the Board of Management of the ASL, Members of the Academia, Senior Officers of the Tri Services, Spouses and Parents of the graduates were among the distinguished guests.
