The certificate awarding ceremony and closing remarks of the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers’ Logistics Course 28, which commenced on 10 February 2026 with the due decorum and precision, marking the successful completion of training for 48 participants.
The ceremony commenced with the arrival of the Commandant of the Army School of Logistics, Brigadier DIS Jayasinghe ndc psc, who was warmly welcomed and accompanied by the Chief Instructor, Colonel MSR Mohamed Lsc. The ceremony reflected the discipline and traditions of the ASL, setting a respectful and solemn tone.
Following the Army Song, one-minute silence observed in honour of the fallen war heroes, paying tribute to their supreme sacrifice. The audience was then presented with a series of glimpses highlighting the exercises, activities including the study visits of the course, showcasing the dedication, training and achievements of the participants throughout the programme.
The highlight of the event was the awarding of certificates to the Senior Non-Commissioned Officers who have successfully completed the course. Due recognition was given to outstanding performers of the course. Staff Sergeant Kumarasinghe KMS of 3 Engineer Services Regiment secured the first in order of merit. Sergeant Jayasinghe GSAB of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (Artillery) Battalion secured second in order of merit, while Sergeant Bandara AMDS of 4 Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps achieved third in order of merit, reflecting their exceptional performance and commitment.
Following the presentation of certificates, the Chief Guest, Brigadier Sudeera Jayasinghe, addressed the gathering. In his remarks, he commended the participants for their hard work and dedication and praised the successful conduct and outcomes of the course. He emphasized the importance of leadership, professionalism and continuous development among Senior Non-Commissioned Officers in strengthening the Army’s operational effectiveness.
The ceremony concluded with the national anthem, bringing the formal proceedings to a respectful close. The event was followed by refreshments, providing an opportunity for fellowship and interaction among attendees.
The successful completion of the course stands as a testament to the commitment of both the participants and the training staff, reinforcing the Army School of Logistics’ role in developing capable and professional military logisticians.
