THE ASL SHARE TO GLITTERING VESAK FESTIVAL 2023

In concurrence with the Vesak festival held on 05 May 2023, Buddhists all over the world commemorate events of significance to Buddhists of all traditions: The birth, enlightenment and the parinibbhana of Gautama Buddha. Accordingly, the troops of Army School of Logistics (ASL) organized a series of religious events under the guidance of the Commandant, Brigadier EMM Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO at the school premises.

Venerable Aluthoya Sadhdhathissa Thero, Chief Incumbent at Sri Bodhirajarama Temple, China Bay, Trincomalee conducted the morning Bodhi Pooja programme and a special sermon for the troops which invoked merits on fallen War Heroes and blessings on disable soldiers, serving Army personnel and their family members.

The evening was lightened up by creative Vesak lanterns and chickpeas dansela (free giveaway) organized by Army personnel of ASL for the general public.

These religious events were successfully celebrated with the participation of the Commandant, Senior Officers, Officers, Student Officers and Other Ranks of ASL.
